Vegan French toast recipe

VEGAN FRENCH TOAST
 
  Ingredients
  •      2 tbsp ground flaxseeds
  •     ½ cup warm non-dairy milk (almond, oat, soy, etc.)
  •     1 tbsp maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
  •     ½ tsp vanilla extract
  •     ½ tsp cinnamon                                                                                                 
  •     Dash of salt
  •     4-6 slices thick bread
  •     1 tbsp vegan butter or oil (for cooking)

Instructions
  1. Make the flaxseed mixture: 
           In a shallow bowl, mix the ground flaxseeds with warm non-dairy milk. Cover and let sit for 5               minutes until it thickens (this acts as the egg substitute).
  2.  Add flavors:
          Stir in vanilla extract, salt and cinnamon to the flax mixture. Mix well.
  3. Dip the bread: 
         Dip each slice of bread into the mixture, making sure to coat both sides evenly. Let it soak for a               few seconds but don’t oversaturate.
  4. Cook:
         Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Add vegan butter or oil. Cook each slice for 2-3 minutes            per side until golden brown.
  5. Serve:
       Enjoy with syrup, fresh fruits, powdered sugar, or nut butter
