Sometimes, the best getaways are just a short drive away. Our day trip to The Ridge Cabin Resort in Limuru was exactly that; a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of Nairobi into a haven of scenic beauty, great food, and unforgettable vibes.

The Journey to Limuru

 The day started with an early departure from Nairobi, the cold morning air creating the ideal atmosphere for a leisurely journey. The panorama progressively changed as we drove into Limuru, becoming a breathtaking contrast to the urban backdrop of the city, with rolling hills, verdant tea plantations, and foggy highlands. We were able to relax thanks to the beautiful scenery and clean country breeze.

Arrival at The Ridge Cabin Resort

Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the resort’s staff, who led us to the dining area, where we were met with breathtaking views. The resort, nestled amid serene greenery, boasted an incredible view of the Limuru hills and valleys. The wooden cabins, tastefully designed to blend with nature, added to the rustic charm of the place.

A Feast for the Senses

Without delicious meals, a trip isn't complete, and The Ridge Cabin Resort did not let us down. As the day went on, we savored a lavish lunch that included grilled meats, traditional Kenyan fare, and cool beverages; all while taking in the expansive views of Limuru.

Vibes, Relaxation, and Good Company

The day was full with relaxation, laughing, and positive energy. We enjoyed the fresh Limuru air while taking leisurely walks around the property and taking pictures of the beautiful scenery. There were chances for nature walks and easy hikes for those looking for a little more adventure so they could appreciate the beauty of the surroundings to the fullest.

 
Our vacation was made more significant by our time spent with the owner. We were even more appreciative of the resort after hearing her stories about its conception and development. We felt less like guests and more like members of a wider family who all loved the outdoors and a wonderful life thanks to her gracious hospitality.

Sunset and Departure

We knew it was time to return to Nairobi when the sun started to set and the sky turned pink and orange. With regretful thoughts of a wonderful day spent in the embrace of nature, we packed things and said goodbye to The Ridge Cabin Resort.
