Ingredients:
For the Pork:
500g pork loin or shoulder, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp soy sauce
½ cup cornstarch
1 egg, beaten
Oil for deep frying
For the Sauce:
3 tbsp ketchup
2 tbsp rice vinegar or white vinegar
2 tbsp soy sauce
3 tbsp sugar
½ cup of pineapple juice or water
1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (slurry)
Instructions:
Marinate the Pork – In a bowl, mix the pork pieces with salt, black pepper, and soy sauce. Let it sit for 45 minutes.
Coat and Fry – Dip each pork piece in the beaten egg, then coat with cornstarch. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry until golden brown and crispy. Dry your hands with paper towels.
Make the Sauce – In a bowl, mix ketchup, vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, and pineapple juice. Heat a pan over medium heat, add the sauce, and bring to a simmer. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until thickened.
Serve – Enjoy hot with steamed rice.
