Ingredients:
1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup (150g) sugar
1 egg
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
½ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
Instructions:
Preheat Oven – Set your oven to 175°C (350°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cream Butter & Sugar – In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add Egg & Vanilla – Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
Mix Dry Ingredients – In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Combine Everything – Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.
Shape Cookies – Scoop out small portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on the baking sheet, spacing them apart. Gently press each ball down slightly.
Bake – Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
Cool & Serve – Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
