Soft and Layered Chapati Recipe
Ingredients:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)
- 2 tablespoons oil or melted butter
- 1 cup warm water (adjust as needed)
- Extra flour for dusting
- Oil for cooking
Instructions:
- Mix the dry ingredients – In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and sugar.
- Add water and oil – Gradually add warm water and knead into a soft, smooth dough. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Divide and roll – Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each into a small ball.
- Layering for softness – Roll out a ball into a circle, brush with oil, sprinkle flour, and roll it into a coil. Flatten again to create layers.
- Cook on a hot pan – Place the chapati on a heated pan, cook for 1-2 minutes per side, applying a little oil until golden brown and soft.
- Serve warm – Stack the chapatis and cover them to keep them soft. Enjoy with stew or tea!
