Soft and Layered Chapati Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional)

  • 2 tablespoons oil or melted butter
  • 1 cup warm water (adjust as needed)
  • Extra flour for dusting
  • Oil for cooking

Instructions:

  1. Mix the dry ingredients – In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and sugar.
  2. Add water and oil – Gradually add warm water and knead into a soft, smooth dough. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
  3. Divide and roll – Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each into a small ball.
  4. Layering for softness – Roll out a ball into a circle, brush with oil, sprinkle flour, and roll it into a coil. Flatten again to create layers.
  5. Cook on a hot pan – Place the chapati on a heated pan, cook for 1-2 minutes per side, applying a little oil until golden brown and soft.
  6. Serve warm – Stack the chapatis and cover them to keep them soft. Enjoy with stew or tea!
