SIMPLE RICE RECIPE
Ingredients:
- 1 cup rice (white or brow
- 2 cups water
- ½ teaspoon salt (optional)
- 1 tablespoon butter or oil (optional)
Instructions:
- Rinse the rice under cold water to remove excess starch.
- Boil the water in a pot over medium heat. Add salt and butter/oil if using.
- Add the rice to the boiling water, stir once, and reduce the heat to low.
- Cover the pot with a lid and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes (white rice) or 40-45 minutes (brown rice) until all the water is absorbed.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and serve warm
